Noise & Vibrations

Noise and Vibrations are constantly present in societies, mainly in the most technological ones. Noise causes serious problems both at home, in construction, in manufacturing, and in other workplaces, and the task of reducing community noise is a subject currently regarded by regulators and governmental authorities. Similarly, manufacturers find themselves at the crossroads of their products’ noise levels.

EQS Global seeks to provide its clients reliable assessments and specialized technical advisory ensuring legal compliance and high quality and safety levels.

EQS Global Acoustic and Vibrations laboratory is accredited by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (IPAC) according to ISO / IEC 17025: 2005, (Accreditation Scope in IPAC Website).

Environmental Noise

The assessment of environmental noise is an applicable test for the permanent and temporary noisy activities (industry, services, shows, civil works, transport infrastructure), used to determine whether the sound pressure levels are likely to cause discomfort. Monitoring is performed according to the standards and current applicable legislation.

EQS Global Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Monitoring laboratory are accredited by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (IPAC) according to ISO / IEC 17025: 2005, for the assessment of environmental noise (Discomfort criteria and Average Sound Level Long Term).

Acoustic in Buildings

The acoustic analysis of buildings is an assessment to assess the acoustic requirements of buildings, to ensure the sound insulation conditions of these buildings, by measuring and determining the following parameters:

  • Reverberation time, T
  • Sound insulation to the airborne sound facade, D2 m, nT
  • Sound insulation to airborne sound, standardized, DnT
  • The sound level of standard percussion, L’nT
  • Level assessment, LAr, nT, the particular noise collective facilities of buildings

Monitoring is performed according to the standards and current applicable legislation.

Occupational Noise

The assessment of Occupational noise is the evaluation of noise exposure of workers at work, following the current legislation and standards.

EQS Global Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Monitoring laboratory are accredited by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (IPAC) according to ISO / IEC 17025: 2005 for the assessment of occupational noise.

Vibrations on the Human Body

The assessment of Vibrations on the human body is an assessment to determine the worker’s exposure to vibrations that can be transmitted to the hands and arms of operators from vibrating tools, vibrating machinery, or vibrating workpieces and vibrations that can be transmitted to the whole body from vehicles, industrial machinery, and activities.

The monitoring is performed according to the standards and current applicable legislation.

EQS Global Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Monitoring laboratory are accredited by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (IPAC) according to ISO / IEC 17025: 2005 for the assessment of exposure to vibration transmitted to the hand-arm and whole-body system.

Vibrations in Buildings

The assessment of Vibrations in Buildings is an assessment through the excitement of building elements. These analyses will estimate the suitability of such a building for human comfort in the presence of vibration by generating curves limit of perception/comfort.

The monitoring is performed according to the standards and current applicable legislation.
