Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS)
Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS) is an ultrasonic technology used generally for inspection of pipes and tubes integrity in boilers, heat exchangers, steam generators, among others.
The Internal Rotary Inspection System probe is inserted into a tube which is flooded with water, the probe consists of a rotating mirror that directs the ultrasonic beam into the tube wall and has a small turbine that is rotated by water pressure. The system is then removed as the data is displayed and recorded.
