AFTER ALL… DO WE ALL KNOW WHAT QUALITY IS?

We have no doubt that Quality is one of the factors that contribute most to the success of organizations. Therefore, and on this World Quality Day, we decided to explore this subject in more detail. After all… do we all know what Quality is?

Quality Management implements the control and standardization of processes, also allowing the evaluation of the effectiveness of actions and decisions taken, focusing on customer satisfaction and the search for continuous improvement of production, whether product or service that the organization provides to the customer.

The adoption of good Quality Management practices allows the development of good internal and external communication, in addition to the systematization of tasks and procedures, evaluation and continuous improvement of employees’ skills, opening of new opportunities in the market or maintenance of market share, certification with external visibility and internal and external recognition.

Managing Quality means constantly pursuing excellence: ensuring that what our organization does is fit for purpose, and not only stays that way but continues to improve.

Why should all organizations care about Quality?

Fundamentally for the purpose of survival and prosperity. Effective Quality management can enhance an organization’s brand and reputation, protect it from risk, increase its efficiency, increase its profits, and position it for continued growth.

Quality is not just a box to be ticked or something to pay attention to. Failures resulting from poor governance, ineffective assurance, and resistance to change can, and do, have dire consequences for companies, individuals, and society as a whole.

What does Quality apply to?

To everything. Every product, service, process, task, action or decision in an organization can be judged in terms of its Quality – how good is it, is it good enough, how can we make it better?
