EQS INVITED TO UK SECURITY EXPO

EQS was present, between the 30th November and 1st December, at the UK Security Expo. The event, which found its motto in the growing threats to international security and the need to discuss issues related to the Safety of Critical Assets, attracted about 250 exhibitors and 8000 end-users in the Security area. EQS’s presence, represented by its Head of Business Development, Pedro Costa, was the result of an invitation from the European Commission, and had as main objective to understand the future needs and developments of the Security Industry, as well as to make contact with potential clients and partners.

In addition to the exhibition area, where the strongest companies in the sector were represented, the event also included an educational and sharing dimension, through the holding of Conferences and Lectures by world experts, to promote the discussion of themes related to nowadays’ agenda – Counter-terrorism, Cyber security and ICS Security in the so-called CNI (Critical National Infrastructures) were some of the topics under discussion.

Pedro Costa states that one of the most noticeable aspects during the event was the “greater sensitivity for companies’ C-level to look at Security in an integrated way”, which allows for a transversal and vertical involvement throughout the organization”, in order to make every worker reflect on Security and contribute to the Security of their organization”. In addition, the Head of Business Development stresses the importance of these events to “build greater awareness, bring together key players and engage them in a joint discussion of problems with the objective of reaching 360º solutions.”

As a company that carries out part of its activity in the area of Asset Management and Monitoring, EQS understands the overlap between traditional security and the growing need to exploit new technologies and services, as to respond to the challenges of different markets.
