In 2014, EQS was invited by one of the biggest and most prestigious cities in Iberia to provide a Pipeline Decommissioning Study. EQS Engineering and Asset Management team conducted a Technical Due Diligence in order to address engineering issues, land use considerations, environmental issues, post-abandonment and economic aspects of an onshore pipeline abandonment, considering removal and in-place abandonment options.
The study was presented to the city council president which considered it a successful tool to support the Municipal Executive Board decision-making process, to deepen their knowledge about the involved risks, and to continue protecting the population.
