PORTUGAL IN THE SPOTLIGHT IN THE WIND ENERGY CHAMPIONSHIP

The first wind farm in Portugal was built in 1986, on the island of Porto Santo, in Madeira. Since then we have managed to position ourselves as one of the countries in the world that makes the most use of renewable energies, with wind energy being the main factor responsible for our country’s good figures, representing 27% of national consumption.

According to the Portuguese Renewable Energy Association (APREN), Portugal is in 5th place in the world’s top-ranking for the incorporation of wind energy in electricity production, only exceeded by countries like Denmark, Uruguay, Ireland, and Germany.

Aware of the commitment to contribute to a more efficient energy transition, EQS Global has also made an increasing investment in the wind energy area.
