PPE Detection System

At the RISSAPS – Integrated Safety, Health and Environment Meeting with Service Providers at Repsol Polímeros, Hugo Branquinho, VP Digital Solutions at EQS | a Kiwa company, presented the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) detection system, developed using artificial intelligence. This technology is designed to monitor the proper use of PPE by employees, raising safety standards in industrial areas.

This system is installed at strategic crossing points and automatically analyzes whether workers are equipped with the required PPE, alerting them to the absence of essential protective equipment. With this approach, it is possible to identify any faults before workers move into the work area, reducing potential risks.

The system is already in operation at the Sines industrial complex and is a replicable solution for different industrial sectors. The introduction of this technology represents an important advance in occupational safety, by integrating artificial intelligence and automation to improve accident prevention and strengthen the safety culture in the industrial environment.
