Acquisition of the commitment certificate under the "Guide for the provision of services in radon measurement in indoor air of buildings by passive detectors".
The radon assessment service commitment certificate is assigned to service providers who have demonstrated their competence in radon initial diagnosis and monitorization of effectiveness measures.
EQS Global Group obtained the commitment certificate no. 02/23 granted by the Portuguese Environment Agency in the scope of the “Guide for the provision of services in the measurement of radon in the indoor air of buildings by passive detectors” (Decree-Law no. 108/2018, of December 3).
Present in the APA list of entities providing services in the measurement of radon by passive detectors in the air inside buildings, EQS Global demonstrates competence for radon initial diagnosis and monitorization of effectiveness measures by using passive detectors in the air inside buildings and declares the commitment under the guide for the provision of services in the measurement of radon by passive detectors in the air inside buildings.

The Decree Law no. 108/2018 legislates on the need to test the exposure of workers or members of the public to radon gas inside buildings in continental Portugal, establishing a maximum concentration of 300 Bq/m3.
Radon is a gas that originates from the uranium decaying series. This element is naturally present in rocks, especially granite. The gas can come from soil or subsoil, as well as the material from which the building is made.
When radon levels are not tested, fines are applicable to environmental administrative offenses.
